Mat 1 Introduction to Pilates

  • 6 months movement teaching experience recommended

Mat 1 introduces the principles and foundations of the Pilates method. This module covers beginning and intermediate Mat exercises, with an emphasis on safe execution, modifications, and effective teaching strategies for group classes.

Mat 2 Intermediate and Advanced Mat

Prerequisite:

  • Movement Principles

  • Mat 1

Mat 2 expands on the Mat repertoire, introducing intermediate and advanced exercises. Instructors develop programming skills and learn how to structure Mat classes for a variety of levels with confidence and clarity.

  • Intermediate and advanced sequencing

Mat 3 Enhanced Mat and Props

Prerequisite:

  • Mat 1 and Mat 2 or equivalent training

Mat 3 completes the Mat training by incorporating props such as rings, rollers, bands, and balls. This module introduces creative programming tools that expand traditional Mat work while maintaining the integrity of the Pilates method.
