Learn how to recognize, improve and teach fundamental movement patterns with Movement Principles, the foundation of the Balanced Body instructor training system. This course is designed for both new and experienced instructors to refine their understanding of the body in motion. You will come away with a complete tool box for effectively training clients to recover from injuries, improve their general fitness and enhance their performance.
MOVEMENT PRINCIPLES COURSE DATES
Mat work is the foundation of the Pilates method. The Balanced Body Mat program includes the full repertoire of Pilates exercises, along with modifications and variations to make your program successful for a wide range of clients. If you are interested in the Reformer certification course, it is strongly recommended to take the Mat training in order to deepen your understanding of the work.
PILATES MAT COURSE DATES:
The Reformer, the most popular piece of Pilates equipment developed by Joseph Pilates, is an extraordinarily flexible exercise and rehabilitation tool. You will learn how to safely instruct the full repertoire of Reformer exercises, along with how to properly cue and modify exercises for any type of client. By the end of the course, you will be able to create powerful programming designed to optimize your client's potential.
2022 REFORMER DATES ARE OPEN | REFORMER COURSE DATES:
Learn how muscles move by experiencing each muscle group in action and relating these exercises to functional movement. Anatomy Courses are available in-person (limited space), virtually through live sessions or pre-recorded video available for rental. These three workshops fulfill Pilates Anatomy requirements for Teacher Training Certification.
Deconstructing Pilates & the Anatomy of Movement | Available for purchase on Vimeo
Deconstructing Pilates and the Anatomy of Movement is a workshop that breaks down specific Pilates exercises piece by piece. This workshop will focus on a few exercises to help breakdown the movement sequence, purpose, muscle activity, modifications for specific injuries, cueing, purpose of the exercise, modifications for all levels and precautions. You will go through the start position of the exercise, what muscles are being used, how to engage those muscles and how to cue your clients into each position throughout the entire exercise. Anatomy: Movement of the Trunk | Available for purchase on Vimeo
In Anatomy of the Trunk, you will study all major muscle groups pertaining to your skeleton, spine extension, lateral flexion, rotation, stabilization, hip flexion, hip extension, hip abduction, hip abduction, and their primary actions within the body. You will then apply this knowledge to the Pilates repertoire. Cost $175

Good teachers know the names of muscle groups, great teachers can use their understanding of anatomy to create better programs for their clientele. In Anatomy of the Limbs, you will study all major muscle groups pertaining to the upper extremity joint movements and their muscles and primary actions within the body. You will then apply this knowledge to the Pilates repertoire. Memorizing the names of muscle groups will not enhance your teaching, but learning anatomy while moving your body will. Cost: $175
Pilates for Men | April 2 | 1:30pm - 4:30pm pst
Major athletes all over the world are exploring Pilates as a part of their strength and conditioning exercises. As more MEN begin to embrace the Pilates for it particular take on strength training, flexibility, and physical therapy, Pilates instructors are going to have to know how to customize their training. Bodyline has created new exercises for MEN that are sport specific for athletes based on Joe’s original work.

Trapeze Table/Cadillac Workshop
You will get a thorough introduction to Trapeze Table exercises as well as applications for beginning, post–rehabilitation and advanced clients. This training is appropriate for students not only working with the full Trapeze Table, but also for those working with the Allegro® or Allegro 2 Tower of Power®, Half Trapeze and Wall Tower. Sequencing programs using multiple pieces of equipment are covered, as well as equipment set up, safety and maintenance. Workshop is available Virtually & In-Studio

Pilates Chair & Barrels Workshop
The Chair is an important tool for adding more challenging work for athletic clients, and is also a valuable addition to group programming in combination with the Mat. You will learn exercises and variations for the original Wunda chair, the EXO chair and the split pedal Combo Chair. This course includes exercises and programming for both personal training sessions and classes.

The Trapeze Table, Chair, Barrels and small equipment complete the Pilates exercise system. Each apparatus adds an extra dimension to private or group work.
